When nude is a new black

In fashion, nude is described as a shade that is a little darker than champagne, lighter than sand and perhaps with a hint of blush or peach (as described by Samantha Critchell, a fashion writer). Most colors are loud. Nude falls under the category of pastel colors. The soft and elegant color. Nude allows a woman to wear her dress instead of the dress wearing her. It’s very elegant (Pamela Rolland, New York Fashion Week).

Talking about nude, I cant get away from this particular piece that I made for my client. My client is my uni-mate when did our diploma many years ago. I didn't see her since 1994, at least. This raya she contacted me because of my jewelry. She bought one for raya and she loves it...ordered another one. This time, she wanted her necklace to be customized to match the gold theme. What I have in mind was gold meet black meet champagne. She sent me her photos that made me glad to see the whole ensemble blend so well.

This is the necklace I made for her...

ANNA SUE fabric necklace - "BIBBATIK"

I've always been a huge fan of statement jewelry. The bigger, the better!

This year, im experimenting with fabric. Designing necklaces out of left over fabric especially from my hand printed silk fabric. The result is awesome. I think they have a cool ethnic look to them. I guessed this is the way to preserve our Malaysian fabric art and at the same time fully utilize materials that I used in my design. Next project will see more type of fabric used in my design especially our own Sarawak fabric with etnic design and concept.

Here, this is the result....my gorgeous bibbatik..warlllaaaaaaa
